League of Women Voters with Mona Field

Sunday, October 18 | 2:00 p.m.

Join us as Mona Field, Co-President of the Los Angeles League of Women Voters, helps us understand all 12 statewide measures (and some local propositions) on the November 3, 2020 ballot. Mona has become our go-to expert on all things elections. She returns this time with her sense of humor intact, her ability to clarify complex material, and her deep knowledge of state and local government.

Bring your sample ballot. Mona will discuss the pros and cons of a diverse set of issues: property taxes, rent control, parolee voting, sentence changes for some crimes, approving or rejecting cash bail, funding for stem cell research, reinstituting affirmative action, allowing some 17-year-olds to vote, governing kidney dialysis clinics, special workplace rules for app-based companies like Uber and Lyft, and new consumer privacy rules.

Also bring a piece or two of political "junk mail." If time permits, Mona will show us how to determine who is really seeking our votes.
