Celebrating Shavuot with Beth AmThursday, May 25 | 7:00 p.m. |
Location: Temple Beth Am, 1039 La Cienega Blvd, LA, CA 90035
Join Temple Isaiah clergy and members as we join for a community-wide celebration of Shavuot held at Temple Beth Am. Shavuot celebrates the Revelation of Torah at Mount Sinai, and it is traditional to celebrate Shavuot by staying up all night studying Torah. Join for a lite dinner, a keynote presentation by Rabbi David Kasher, followed by an array of learning sessions taught by rabbis and leaders from all over Los Angeles. Rabbi Dara Frimmer will be teaching a session at 9:30 p.m. called Is Exhaustion a Jewish Value? where she will explore traditional texts and contemporary perspectives on burnout and bad decision making, and answer the question, “what’s worth staying up all night for?”
