Join us as we welcome Joey Freeman, Deputy Mayor of Intergovernmental Affairs for LA Mayor Karen Bass, to the Sacred Supper table! Joey will join Rabbi Jaclyn for a conversation about politics, activism, and the Jewish values that guide and challenge our pursuit of a more just society. A native Angeleno, Joey grew up at Stehen Wise Temple and graduated from Milken Community High School. He received a BA and later MBA from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to his current role with Mayor Bass, Joey worked for Governor Gavin Newsom as Chief Deputy Legislative Affairs Secretary, serving as one of Governor Newsom’s chief advisors on all legislative issues. Active in the Jewish community, Joey currently serves on the Berkeley Hillel Board of Directors.
