Isaiah Women: Forest Bathing

Sun, May 19 - 10:30 AM

Unplug and connect with nature as we take a guided forest therapy walk! Through gentle “invitations” to explore the outdoors, our senses will be heightened and our connection to nature deepened. “Forest bathing” is the English translation of the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku. Participating in one of these slow-paced walks often elicits a grounding and calming response.

How: Dress in layers and in comfortable walking shoes and a hat (long pants recommended). Bring sunscreen and a water bottle.

Deborah Ackrich is a Forest Therapy Guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT). As a long-time resident of Topanga, and more recently Agoura Hills, she appreciates the importance and the numerous health benefits of “bathing” in nature, and she enjoys sharing this healing practice with others.
