Awareness-raiser or Fundraiser

The Sunday after Passover, the Tiyul: Shabbat B’yachad 7th grade class set-up and ran a hunger fundraiser for an organization called Action Against Hunger. But the point of their fundraiser was not only to raise funds but also to raise consciousness.

Passover is just around the corner.  As we do each year, soon we will all be sitting around Seder tables, retelling the story of the Exodus. The students in Rina’s 6th grade class took the dictum “In every generation each person should feel as though he or she personally had gone forth from Egypt”
