PPA Parent Lecture Series

UPCOMING PRESCHOOL PARENT LECTURE

THE WAY WE SPEAK TO OUR CHILDREN BECOMES THEIR INNER VOICE

Larissa Neilson holds degrees in Business Administration and Law. She is an author, Infant/Toddler specialist, CEO and founder of Riesers™ Inc. While working as a nanny, she discovered the work of Dr. Emmi Pikler through Magda Gerber’s RIE® (Resources for Infant Educarers) and became an Infant Care Specialist.  She began her formal training at the RIE® Center in Los Angeles in 2006. In 2015 she studied the Pikler® Pedagogy under the tutelage of Anna Tardos at the Pikler® House in Budapest, Hungary. Her passion for infants took her to author "The LA Nanny Book", a comprehensive guide that includes practical information from resume writing and interviewing to establishing harmonious relationships with employers and co-workers. The second part of the book presents the Educaring® Approach principles. She has been a presenter at various national conferences, including National Nanny Training Day, International Nanny Association INA as well as at the Annual RIE Conference. She has traveled to Mexico, Peru and China to introduce the RIE and Pikler education.

Objective: To understand the power of modeling and recognize that our children are learning from us through our every word and action about love, relationships, empathy, generosity, gratitude, patience, tolerance, kindness, honesty and respect. Most importantly they are learning about themselves.
