The Weekend FAQs

Where and When is The Weekend?

The Weekend will take place May 13-15, 2016 at Camp Hess Kramer, right off PCH in Malibu.  We will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and end by 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Can I only register online?

Yes, registration will only take place online through the link on our website page. You’ll see a link on our Home page and all our Family Camp pages that will take you to the Registration Form.

Tell me about the housing and cost – is this camping?

This is not camping.  There are three types of housing available and honestly, they are all great options.  You can see pics of each option on our Facebook page, just scroll through the posts – www.facebook.com/TheWeekendwithTI.  Cost includes all meals, snacks, and activities for the weekend!  Here’s the breakdown:

Conference Center

Private rooms, sleeps up to 4-5 (linens on the beds, private baths)
23 available rooms.
$325 per adult
$150 per child (2 and older)

Semi-Private Rooms

Private room, 2 double beds and 2 twin beds (bathroom shared with 1 adjoining room)
11 available rooms
$275 per adult
$150 per child (2 and older)

Bring your sleeping bags & towels and get ready to bunk bed it...there is indoor plumbing!  This year, two families are required to share each cabin.  You will have the opportunity to request with whom you share the cabin, if you so desire.
30 spots available (15 cabins total)
$200 per adult
$150 per child (2 and older)

SPECIAL NOTE – 2nd Graders and Up

This year, we’re excited to offer a true camp-like experience for all children currently enrolled in 2nd grade or up!  Your children will stay in cabins with their peers and qualified camp counselors.  This is for sleeping accommodations and Friday evening programming only.  We highly recommend you encourage your child(ren) to take advantage of this opportunity.  You will have the option to let us know if you’d prefer your child stay with you in your room.

How is housing assigned?

In the first part of your registration, you will tell us your preference for housing (Conference Center, Semi-Private, or Cabin).  Based on the timestamp and availability of each housing option when you submit your registration form online, we will send you a link to pay for that housing option.  You will have 24 hours to pay for your housing, after which, you will lose your spot and you will be put on The Weekend Waiting List.

But I requested a Conference Center room and got a link for a Semi-Private Room.  What’s up with that?

It means there were people who signed up before you who requested the available Conference Center rooms and you put Semi-Private as your second (or third) choice.  We suggest you secure your spot at The Weekend by paying for the Semi-Private room and you will then become eligible for an ‘upgrade’ if a spot opens up in the future.

Can I pay for The Weekend with a payment plan?

If you would like to set up a payment plan for The Weekend, you must set it up with us by contacting Stephanie Schwartz (stephanie@templeisaiah.com) within 24 hours of receiving your e-mail about housing payment.  Some amount of money will be required as an initial payment within the 24 hours of registration.

Is there any financial aid available for The Weekend?

We have a limited amount of aid available, so please contact Rabbi Joel at rabbijoel@templeisaiah.com before registration begins at 7:00pm on Tuesday, Feb. 9 to discuss it confidentially.

Can my family just come up for the day on Saturday?

Unfortunately, we will not be offering a Day-Only option this year.  We’ve learned that The Weekend is best experienced when your family attends the entire time and so we encourage you to block out Friday afternoon and Sunday morning and just join us for the whole thing!

Cancellation Policy

We understand that things come up.  In order to receive a full refund, you must cancel two months prior to the start of The Weekend, no later than March 13, 2016.  Cancellation after that date will require us to keep 50% of the payment.  Cancellations made within 7 days of The Weekend will receive no refund.  Please remember, we are not making money on this retreat.  We need to make sure we cover expenses and we want to provide the best experience to the most amount of people.
