SUMMARY:The Neighborhood presents Shabbat at Home
DESCRIPTION:The Neighborhood presents Shabbat in the Home on MAY 15! Join Isaiah K-12 families from around and beyond West LA for intimate Shabbat dinners and the blessings of community. Host a Shabbat dinner or participate as a guest – we will match you!\n\nWhat is Shabbat in the Home? Presented by “The Neighborhood\,” Temple Isaiah’s social\, spiritual\, and educational programming initiative for K-12 families\, Shabbat in the Home is an opportunity for families to open their homes and celebrate Shabbat together\, to deepen relationships\, and to create a stronger community for children and adults.\n\nWho will be doing the matching\, and how? We (the organizers) will be matching families together primarily by ages of kids\, but also by common interest / neighborhood / any special requests or requirements.\n\nWhat does it mean to host? You tell us how many individuals you can fit in your home + any special info (pets / food allergies / Kashrut / etc.). You decide the menu (do you want to cook? Make it a potluck? Order takeout?) and communicate with your guests. Each host family will receive a Shabbat box with the Shabbat essentials – grape juice\, candles\, copies of the blessings\, etc. These boxes will be available for PICK-UP ONLY on Tuesday\, May 12th from 9am to 5pm and Thursday\, May 14th from 9am to 5pm in the K-12 Office.\n\nWhat does it mean to be a participant? Each participant (aka not-host) family will be matched with a host family. We (organizers) will notify hosts & participants in advance of May 15. Hosts will then communicate how they would like to organize the meal and how participant families can contribute.\n\nSounds great! What’s next? Fill out the form! Please\, only one form per family. If you have any questions\, please reach out to Gabriela Dillow (gabriela@templeisaiah.com)
