Together we’ll learn about Jewish Mussar teachings through guided meditations\, inquiry\, and conversation. This program is an opportunity to regenerate\, and to live life with an awakened purpose. How do we impact the world\, and how is the world impacting us? How do we repair/heal the world? How do we cultivate the radical\, open-hearted courage that this requires? Each community member will receive a copy of With Heart in Mind: Mussar Teachings to Transform Your Life as a textbook for the program. We ask that you show up for yourself\, and that you will be an active participant in cultivating this community of care. This journey is facilitated by temple member Faithe Raphael Haimer and members of the clergy.

DESCRIPTION:Join us on Friday evening\, June 7 as we celebrate Pride Shabbat and welcome special guest\, Cantorial Soloist Raymond Zachary. Raymond\, a classically trained countertenor currently located in East L.A will bring their program\, Rainbow Shabbat\, which they presented in synagogues all across the country. This shabbaton encourages LGBTQIA+ shul goers not only to feel comfortable as a “Jew-in-the-pew” but serves as an outreach program to say that their community encourages them to take leadership positions on boards\, committees\, and even as clergy.  It also provides synagogues with tools and resources to create safe and accepting spaces for congregants who identify within the LGBTQIA+ community.  \nRaymond will join our clergy in leading this special\, festive shabbat service and will also lead an engaging learning program during the Oneg to follow.
