This daytime club is all about great books and lively conversation. All interested Isaiah Women are invited, even if you are a member of the other, well-established nighttime I.W. book group. Our first book will be “The Handmaid’s Tale” by Margaret Atwood. In the wake of the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade, this story will surely lead to a meaningful discussion. THE BRAID PRESENTS On the Edge of their Seats: Master the Transformative Power of Personal Storytelling
Space is limited to 10 people
Join I.W. for a three-hour workshop on personal storytelling with one of The Braid's (formerly the Jewish Women’s Theatre) Abby Freeman Artists-in-Residence, Lisa Cirincione. Participants will learn from a Braid veteran how to take a personal story, or any story, off the page and into the hearts of your listeners. Cirincione is an actress, director and personal storytelling coach who is deeply committed to helping people perform their personal stories with humor, emotion and authenticity. She has both acted and directed in numerous Braid productions. You can also see her on screen in the FOX TV show, 9-1-1, Spectrum's L.A.'s Finest and on Direct TV’s short film Porcupine, in which she both stars and served as producer.
This special opportunity is underwritten for I.W. by a generous contribution from the Robbin Steif Philanthropic Fund. If you RSVP, please make every effort to attend, or let us know well in advance that you can’t make it.
