Exploring Tu B’shvat
Rina’s 6th grade students explored the festival of Tu B’Shvat (Birthday of the Trees) by working in chevruta (studying pairs) on questions provided by their teacher. They researched their assignments on iPads (how cool is that in Religious School!) and presented their information by way of media of their choice. The results are for you to see and enjoy! Some of the questions that were answered by the kids were:
- What is Tu B’Shvat and when does it take place?
- A skit about Honi who according to legend stood in a circle and asked God for rain to water the parched fields.
- A teaching about three groups of foods eaten on Tu’B’shvat.
- Exploring the Mitzvah of Bal Tashchit (Protecting the Environment).
